Värväämö is a meeting place of employees and employers in the construction sector, where people can chat in a relaxed environment to put their work life in order. The company is rapidly renewing the construction field’s employment services to make them more humane.
We interviewed Hanna Rauhala from Värväämö Oy’s HR services.
Starting point
“We had quite a few new supervisors, but we didn’t really have a uniform policy. We needed tools, especially for issues such as intervening with underperforming and for team leadership. We also wanted to make our new team of supervisors more united and allow easier sharing of experiences between supervisors.”
Why did they decide to get coaching from Hälsa?
“Determined contacting, expertise and careful listening of the client.”
What was done?
Initial and final leadership assessments, Firstbeat well-being analysis, Natural Tendencies analysis, four group coaching meetings, steering group.
Themes of the coaching meetings:
- A supervisor’s role in change and a coaching approach to leadership
- Trust leadership
- Self-leadership and recovery
- Self-awareness and leading different types of people
The key advantage provided by the coaching?
“Everyone who participated in the coaching felt that they received concrete help for their own work, which was our number one priority. From the client’s perspective, the whole process was really easy and effortless from start to finish. A major thing was that we got some concrete tools and that we did not paint with too broad strokes that would not have left anything to build on.”
How was the coaching executed from your perspective as the client?
“We were listened to and the coaching was truly customised to our needs so that it really was useful. They were prepared to change things and remain flexible if necessary.”
